Illuminated (shared fanfic with Eric)

Odette slipped out of her dormitory once all the other girls had gone to sleep, she was grateful for the extra darkness that night. She made her way to the tallest tower and looked out across the grounds through the window and smiled, it was so nice outside and peaceful. She wished things at home were better like here....to her Avalorn would be the home she had always wanted and had never had. She rested her head against the windowpane and sighed, maybe she could fly away from her problems....pretend that being a pureblood wasn't in her blood. She envied the freedom muggle-borns and half-bloods had, they weren't considered breeding material.
(Uhm could take place during their relationship )

Eric sighed as he leaned back in his desk chair; he had just finished grading the last paper of the first years for his class. He felt his brain was fried from reading papers written by ten through eleven-year-olds.

He groaned as he ran his hands over his face. "I really got to figure out an easier way to do this..." He mumbled to himself.

He peeked through his fingers and saw the shadow of a person pass his classroom door. Eric stood up, wand in hand as he went to follow the person.

As he followed the person, he began to relax as he discovered who it was. He smiled when she was her step into the moonlight shining from the window.

He stared at her for a moment, not wanting to break the trance.

"Isn't it past students' curfews?" He asked, in a soft, joking, tone, as he took a step towards her.

Odette jumped when she first heard that voice and then relaxed when she recognized that voice. "Will you put me in detention Professor?" She asked as she glanced back at him with a little smile on her face as she spoke.

Eric chuckled softly as he made his way to her. "Well, I can't pick favorites; against the rules." He stated, shrugging.

"But... My hours have ended for the night... And I'm wondering what this beautiful woman is doing up so late?" He asked, smiling at her as he lightly bumped her shoulder.

Odette blushed and smiled up at him, "Oh you know me, I can't sleep some nights." She said with a shrug. "So I'm a favorite now hmm?" She asked lighy.

"If I didn't know better, I'd say you were a werewolf; you always seem to be up with the moon." Eric said, nodding towards the full moon outside.

He chuckled. "I never said that." He said, before taking a glance around before slipping his arms around the blonde's waist from behind. "But I think we both know the answer." He said, before kissing the top of her head as she leaned her back into his chest.

She smiled and leaned against him, "Is that so? I think I might need a reminder." She said with a little laugh as she enjoyed being held against him like this. She always felt safe and secure when he held her as if she was the most precious thing in the world....it made her love him all the more.

Eric rubbed her arms, swaying a little as he held her. "That can be taken care of very easily..." He said, softly, before lifting his hand to her chin and tilting her face towards his. He reached down and gave her a soft kiss on her lips.

He didn't want to let her go, he just wanted to keep his arms around her. He wanted to show her off on his arm, showing the world she was his and that no one could change that....

Not her father, not his cousin... no one.

Odette smiled into the kiss, she felt safe and loved when he kissed her like this. She gently returned the kiss and lightly pressed herself closer against him. She wanted to forget her problems for the moment and focus on Eric....she loved Eric with all her heart.

Eric pulled back a little and leaned his forehead against her forehead. He held her close to him.

He leaned his lips to her ear and in such a soft voice only she could hear, he said, "I love you..."

A wide smile grew on her lips and Odette leaned forward to kiss him again, once she parted her lips from his briefly she whispered against his lips, "I love you too." She smiled up at him warmly and slid her hands up to wrap around his neck as she smiled at him.

Eric smiled down at her, nothing but love and joy on his face. He kissed her forehead and held her close. He held her for the longest moment.

He looked up out of the windows towards the moon. He glanced down towards the grounds, slowly feeling reality creeping back to them.

"As much as I hate to say this... but I think you need to head back to your dorm and try to get some sleep..." He said, with a smile that had a hint of sadness. He pulled her away from him and gave her one last kiss on her forehead.

"Tomorrow is Saturday... Would you like to go to the town and head to the docks? I'm sure I can get a man to lend us a boat."

Odette hated it when he pulled back from her but she brightened once more at his suggestion, "Yeah that sounds like it'll be nice." She said with a wide smile as she looked up at him.

Eric smiled. "Great, I'll send an owl in the morning." He said, giving her a quick kiss on her lips.

"I love you and sweet dreams, Odette." He said, softly, as he held onto only her hands now.

Odette smiled up at him, "Good night Eric, and you take care of yourself." She said gently before she lightly squeezed his hands with her own. Staring up at him happily for a moment she blushed and then released his hands, before she could quite lose her nerve she stretched up and kissed him on the lips.

Eric closed his eyes in the kiss and resisted the urge to pull her back into him when she started pulling away.

He quickly took hold of her hands again and kissed them before letting them go.

"'Til tomorrow?" He asked, softly, with a smile.

Odette nodded, "Yeah...I look forward to that." She said warmly as she smiled up at him. She was overly excited that she was going to go out with Eric tomorrow and she let that show in her face.

Eric smiled. "If you don't go now, I'm not going to be able to let you go for the night." He said, chuckling a little.

Odette giggled and then smirked up at him, "Is that so?" She asked with a seductive tone in her voice as she looked up at him.

Eric chuckled. "Now, you're being sneaky." He said, shaking his finger at her. "You know better." He said, rubbing his thumb across her knuckles of the hand he was still holding.

She gave him a pseudo innocent look as she brought his hand up to her lips and kissed it tenderly before lowering his hand. "Oh I don't know." She said softly.

Eric gave her a look with a smirk. "Oh, I know you know... You're a good student, and good students don't stay out late of their dorms at night."

He stepped closer to her. "Now, you need to go be a good student tonight.... You can be bad tomorrow." He said, chuckling.

Odette gave a little humming sound and then swayed a little bit, "Technically it is tomorrow." She said with a slight husky tone creeping into her voice as she stepped closer towards him.

Eric sighed, smiling. "Odette, tsk, tsk..." He said, not taking a step forward or a step back from her as she came towards him.

"You know that they patrol the corridors this late."

Odette smiled even wider, "Hmm and yet you're still here." She said taking another step towards him as she smiled up at him.
