"Very awful, indeed!" He exclaimed with a laugh. Then smiled softly at Jane and said, "I'm glad that you're better..."

"Thanks," Jane said. She bit her lip and then said, "I'm sorry, about what happened. In the dining hall. I don't have anything against homosexuals... It's just that... Well..." She rubbed her arm akwardly.

"Your reaction was't what I really expected. Well until I heard your letter, so I kind of understand," Milo smiled softly and shrugged his shoulders slightly.

Jane's eyes widened. "You what?" she whispered, shocked and hurt that he heard what she wrote.

He flinched back slightly at the sound of her voice. He messed up once again. "S-Sorry...I really wasn't sure what to do." He murmured with a soft guilty voice

Jane sighed and sat down on a chair, her elbows resting on her knees and her head in her hands. "No, I should be sorry. I didn't mean to snap at you. I've just been on my guard ever since Albus' death."

He stood his safe distance from her. The owl's owner was upset, so any movement towards her would rile Owlicious up. "Been on guard?"

Jane nodded. "Afraid. I'm scared about the people I care about getting hurt."

He grimaced slightly as he stared over at her. "Everyone is afraid of losing someone they care about...That's people make so many memories together to remember the ones they love."

Jane wrapped her arms around her shoulders, looking at the floor. "But they still have a family. I only have my father and he's not getting any younger. He's fifty-three and I'm scared that one day that I'm going to recieved a letter, telling me that my daddy died." Jane looked up at Milo, tears in her eyes. "I just can't stand loosing the people I love. I just can't stand knowing that dad's life is on a tight rope. I can't stand to know that if my dad dies, that I won't have any family members left. You have Taran, I have nobody. I tend to accidently push people away from me, afraid of loosing them."

He swallowed harshly and walked over to Jane then kneed down in front of her. "Jane..everyone's life is on a tightrope. Even your life is too. It's true that I had Taran, but I wasn't sure if I did or not these recent years. There are some family members in Taran's family that despises magic with a burning passion."

He grimaced deeply as he says this, "Some muggles don't care if the magical bearer is their blood relative...t-they had the potential fear and anger to hurt Taran. But my cousin knew he was in danger, so he withdrew from his family quietly.." He raised his hand lightly and wipe away a few tears rolling down her cheek.

Jane's blue eyes looked into Milo's brown eyes. "But he had someone to be with him, even when that person wasn't there. He had you, Milo. He had the knowledge to know that you worried and care about him every day." She placed her hand on his cheek. "He was protected by your love, Milo. You were always with him. And still are."

He sighed softly and shook his head slightly. "I'm not really sure how he feels about me right now..Since I've never seen him since my fourth year."

"You're always with your father no matter how far the distance is between you two. Your love for your father is very strong. I'm pretty sure that your love is protecting him also." he said with a small smile.

Jane looked into his eyes and then gave him a friendly kiss on the cheek. "Thank you, Milo. Thank you for helping me and making me feel better. You... You and Jaxon would get along perfectly. I can see you two being good friends."

He gave her a cheeky grin and stood up. "No problem. It's what friends are for right?" he said as he held out his hand to her. "That's good to know."

Jane took his hand and stood up. She smiled at him and then hugged him. "I'm happy to know that you're here for me, Milo. Thank you for being my friend."

"You're welcome. I'm glad to have befriend you this year, Jane." Milo said as he hugged her back. "By the way, don't mention my orientation to any of the professors. I'm not sure if some do know or not. Only some students at this school know of it."

Jane's head nodded against his chest. She was really short while he was really tall. She looked up at him and said, "Don't worry. I promise I won't tell any of the professors. Just a quick question. Why did you said that some of the male and female students might crush on me? I'm nothing spectacular or anything like that. I'm pretty much just plain and ordinary."

"Are you kidding me? I might be gay, but that doesn't mean that I don't notice a female's beauty. Beautiful brown hair, gorgeous blue eyes, and fair skin would really attract both of the sexes to you," Milo exclaimed to her with a grin.

Jane blushed and looked at the ground, a small smile forming on her face. 'You... You really think so?"

"Of course," He chuckled as he looked down at her. "I really do think so."

Jane looked up at him, a blush on her cheekes and a smile on her lips. "Thank you."

"You're welcome. Jaxon's a very lucky guy," he said with a smile.

Jane's smile altered. "I miss him. He's in Africa at the moment, trying to save the gorilla's and the African dragons that live there."

He sighed softly and shook his head. "So both of you travel? I believe that he misses you too, Jane. Hopefully you can visit him during the holidays or he could surprise you."
